| Background and objectives:Lung transplantation is an established treatment for the end-stage lung disease. As we know that the major obstacle to wider application of transplantation for end-stage disease is the critical shortage of donors, and the problem is more serious for lung transplantation. Because normally lung is the first organ to be destroyed when the patients go worse. Only 20% to 25% of brain dead multiple organ donors have lungs suitable for transplantation due to trauma, infection or inflammatory changes. Normally the recipients have to wait for 1.5 to 3 years before they get the donor lungs because of the shortage of the donor lungs. As a result,10% to 15% of all lung transplant candidates at major transplant centers die when they are waiting for the donor lungs.It is very necessary to seek the new source of donor lungs.
