Backgrouds: Seizure is the clinical manifestation of an abnormal, excessive, synchronous discharge of a population of cortical neurons. Epilepsy is a disorderof the central nervous system characterized by recurrent seizures. Many factors are considered to influence the surgical outcome of patients with epilepsy, including psychology status, presurgical evaluation results, age, number, range and pathological changes of epileptogenic foci. Objective: To analysis the relationship between independent predictors and surgical outcome of patients with intractable epilepsy. Methods: ?Brain imaging of 18F-FDG PET, MRI and EEG were obtained in 65 patients from institute for functional brain disorders, Tangdu hospital, Fourth Military Medical university. Compared The results of ictal PET, scalp Video EEG (VEEG), intracranial EEG and MRI in patients and investigated the application value of 18F-FDG PET and MRI in the localization of epileptogenic focus. Seizure control was also evaluated according to Engel's classification of surgical outcome. The efficacy of PET for the localization of epileptogenic focus was compared with that of VEEG, MRI and intracranial EEG.(2)The resected brain tissue was obtained in 72 patients from institute for functional brain...
