Objective: This study is to confirm the anti-inflammation effects of Simvastatin in rats during ischemia and reperfusion myocardial injury. At present, it is reported that myocardial injury during ischemia and reperfusion has a correlation with polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMN), vascular endothlial cell and myocyte cell. What's more, plasma cytokines play a role of alteration and decoration. Statins, 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-Co A) reductase inhibitors, not only can decrease plasma cholesterol, but also have other effects which is independent of their lipid-lowering effects. But it remains unclear if statins can also protect against myocardial injury of ischemia and reperfusion in vivo. To investigate this question, we developed different rat model in vivo to observe successive changes of TNF-a in plasma and IL-4 and MPO and MDA in tissue. At the same time, we can study the possible mechanism of diminishing myocardial injury, and the value of cytokines described above for forecasting the injury of ischemia and reperfusion.
