Objective To investigate the expression of LMP1,IL-8,VEGF in nasopharyngeal carcinoma, as well as the relationship and prognostic significance of them.Method Clinicopathological features and survival data of 80 patients with NPC were followed up. Expression of LMP1,IL-8,VEGF was examined by S-P immunohistochemistry in 95 archival paraffin-embedded tissue specimens and control groups.Result Expression rates of LMP1,IL-8,VEGF in NPC cases were 40%, 67.5%, 65% respectively. The difference between the expression of the LMP 1,IL-8,VEGF in NPC and that in chronic nasopharyngitis was statistically significant( P<0.05); The positive expression of IL-8 was highly correlated with relapse (p<0.01) and VEGF was highly correlated with relapse, distant metastasis and death (p<0.05) ;other clinicopathological features were no significance with LMP1,IL-8,VEGF; Monovariate survival analysis showed that IL-8,VEGF,lymph node metastasis and age were significantly associated with relapse, sex was significantly associated with distant metastasis, lymph node metastasis was significantly associated with death; Cox' proportional hazards model multivariate survival analysis indicated that LMP1,IL-8,VEGF and lymph node metastasis were independent prognostic factors of relapse;VEGF and sex were independent prognostic factors of distant metastasis;VEGF and lymph node metastasis were independent prognostic factors of total survival time .Conclusion 1.LMP1 maybe induced the expression of IL-8 and VEGF in... |
