Backgrounds Local immune disorders have been assumed to contribute to the etiopathogenesis of oral lichen planus(OLP). Topical corticosteroids are conventionally used in the treatment of erosive/ulcerative OLP. But there are some shortcomings, such as short disease-free interval, easy recurrence, systemic drug accumulation, and so on. Due to these problems, we present an assumption whether some kinds of biological response modifiers (BRM) can be used topically to balance cell immunity of the lesions, so as to achieve the therapeutic goals with good curative effects and minor side effects. Among these BRMs, we chose BCG-PSN as the topical intralesional injection in the treatment of erosive/ulcerative OLP. In our study, we observed the short-term curative effects and side effectsof BCG-PSN.Objectives (1) This study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of topical intralesional injection of BCG-PSN in the treatment of erosive/ulcerative oral lichen planus. (2) It was also conducted to put the modified efficacy evaluation criterion of the erosive/ulcerative OLP on probation.
