Bacterial chromosomes and plasmids are commonly circular, however, linear chromosomes and plasmids were discovered among a few germ such as Streptomyces. Here, we use pulsed field gel electrophoresis to study the genomes of 20 species which are belong to 15 genera in the Actinomycetales. All chromosomes of 19 species are linear. PFGE DNA of 15 strains in the actinomycetes were digested with the rare cutting enzymes VspI and DraI.. The total genome sizes of the strains vary between 7. 7Mb (D. fuscoaurantiacum 2063) and 10.4Mb ( A. dassonvillei 41170) .In addition, linear plasmids with different sizes (25 ~ 750kb) and copy numbers (
