OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of angiotension II (AngII) on the fibrinolytic system through angiotensin II receptor-1 (AT1R) and extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK) pathway in rats with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) through investigating the AngII level in the plasma and homogenized aortic tissue, and determining plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI1) activity and tissue type plasminogen activator (tPA) activity in the plasma and incubation solution for aorta, as well as measuring the incorporation rate of H3-TdR and the expression of the extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK) and phosphorylated ERK (p-ERK) protein in the homogenized aortic tissue. In addition, the above-mentioned indexes of rats with AMI were reassessed after treated with AT1R blocker (telmisartan) and specific inhibitor of ERK signal pathway (PD98059) as well as coapplication of above two drugs.
