Objective:To study motor cortex mapping in patients with mass lesions near primary motor andsensory cortices with fMRI, provide more helpful information for clinical treatment, especiallyfor surgical operation.Methods:1. Subjects:Eighteen patients with mass lesions near primary motor and sensory cortices, and 8 healthy volunteers were investigated with fMRI. Age of patients varied from 24 to 78 years, and ageof volunteers varied from 22 to 29 years2. Experimental design and Imaging methods:1) MRI was performed using a 1.5T GE Signa scanner which was equipped for echo-planarimaging (EPI).
