The Experimental Research On Brain Aging By Acupuncture Combining With Medicine

OBJECTIVE:To research the synergisitic actions in the brain aging rat modal by the acupuncture and Chinese medicine treatment ,and watch their impact in the acticities of antioxidases,nitric oxide ,nitric oxide synthase and neurotransmitters in brain ,and to explore its role mechanism.METHODS: adopt healthy SD rats ,and randomly divide them into six groups, namely blank group,model group,western medicine group,Chinese medicine group,electric acupuncture group,and acupuncture combining with Chinese medicine group.In addition to blank group, the other five groups were injected eight weeks behind skin of neck with D-galactose causing brain aging models, and then were given corresponding treatment of acupuncture and medicine four weeks. First mensurate the learning and memory capacity of rats by water maze , and then break neck and gain cortex and hippocampus of brain. Respectively mensurate activies of SOD and GSH-Px by xanthine oxidase and DTNB methods,and mensuate the content of MDA by TBA method, respectively mensurate the contents of NO and NOS by huangpiaoling and material hin color methods;and test the content of neuotransmitters by HPLC.RESULTS: the combination of electroacupuncture BAIHUI point ,FENGCHI point and BUSHENYIZHI can improve the learning and memory capacity of aging rats, reduce MDA contents of brain cortex and hippocampus organizations, enhance the activities of SOD and GSH-Px in brain organizations, raising the level of NO and NOS, and to regulate neurotransmitters including NE,DA and 5-HT. the effectiveness is better than that of Chinese medicine or electroacupuncture purely.CONCLUSIONS:the injection of the acupuncture and Chinese medicine regulate NO, NOS and neurotansmitters level through the raising activites of antioxidases,lowering content of myocardiocyte. Thereby reducing brain organizations injury and improving brain aging ,and improve brain learning and memory function, the use of electroacupuncture in combination with Chinese medicine can get synergistic actions to brain aging.
