| Objective:To explore the relationship between creatine kinase (CK) level and the poisoning degree in acute carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning cases and the predict value of the prognosis to poisoning severity.Methods:126 consecutive patients hospitalized by emergency and received serum CK assay within 6 to 24 hours after poisoning were assigned into 3 different groups according to the period of their conscious disturbance. There were 69 cases, 37cases and 20 cases in the low, midrange, and high poison degree group each ( the period of conscious disturbance were less 1 hour, 1~24 hours and more than 24 hours). The relationship between creatine kinase (CK) level and the poisoning degree were analyzed In the other grouping method, the 126 cases were assigned into the normal CK level group (82cases) and the over-normal CK level group (44 cases). In the over normal CK level group, 15 cases were assigned into the moderate over-normal CK level sub-group which CK level was between 270 IU/L and 2500 IU/L, and 29 cases were assigned into the severe over-normal CK level sub-group which CK level was over 2500IU/L.The index to determine the severity of prognosis were death, important organ failure (such as encephaledema, cerebral hernia, acute left heart failure, pneumonedema,... |
