Morbidity of diabetes is on the rise in recent years and diabetes has long been a threat to public health globally. As is known that over 90﹪of diabetes patients are of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) which is obviously related to obesity. As a result, obesity T2DM is the principal type of T2DM. Previous researches have showed that patients suffered from obesity T2DM tended to be accompanied with rise of free fatty acids (FFA) in blood plasma. Long-term exposure to high-level of FFA will affect functions of insulinβCell of islet and reduce its survival rate or induce apoptosis. For years, tremendous efforts have been given to peroxisome proliferator-activatedγ-receptor (PPAR-γ), which will undoubtedly be crucial in the study of the mechanism of obesity and insulin resistance although its relationship with insulin resistance is yet to be determined. It can be predicted that further illumination of the relationship between PPAR-γand insulin resistance together with related drug development will enhance our understanding of nosogenesis of insulin resistance and its syndrome, therefore making possible...
