Purpose:To compare the effect of bronchial arterial infusion (BAI), bronchial arterial chemoembolization (BACE) and bronchial arterial Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae (RSM) infusion combined with chemoembolization in central bronchogenic carcinoma.Material and methods: 204 patients with bronchogenic carcinoma were divided into three groups. 31 patients were treated with bronchial arterial Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae (RSM) infusion combined with chemoembolization (group A), 19 cases were treated with BACE (group B) and 154 cases were treated with BAI (group C). Angiographic studies of the selective bronchial arteries were performed in all patients with primary lung carcinoma before treatments. Then, anti-cancer agents were infused into the feeding arteries of the tumor in group C. For the group A and B, a 3-F catheter was coaxially placed directed into the artery feeding the tumor and iodized oil (Lipiodol Ultra-Fluide. Laboratoire Guerbet, Aulnay-sous-Bois, France) mixed with Cisplatinum was injected under fluoroscopic control through the arteries supplying the tumor.. RSM (16ml)...
