| Objective: 1.Prepare rabbit model of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) by cholesterol-rich diet . Pioglitazone was given from the ninth week in group C. At the end of thirteenth week, all the rabbit were sacrificed. TC, TG, insulin resistance index, histological changes, MMP-13, TIMP-2 expression of liver were measured . 2. In order to investigate the implications of matrix metallopro teinase-13(MMP-13)and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2)in the development of liver fibrosis in experimental nonalcoholic steato-hepatitis (NASH), dependablity between the hepatic pathological change and the variance were evaluated. 3.
