Background and purpose: Pulmonary carcinoma is one of the most common malignant tumors, with increasing incidence rate and the highest death rate. Studies on Pulmonary carcinoma have been a hot-spot of global tumor researches. The situation is more severe in our country. Therapeutic efficacy hasn't been improved obviously for recent decades mainly because it presents complicated biological characteristics and higher malignancy. Nearly 80% of patients with lung cancer get final diagnosis in advanced stage due to concealed clinical symptom. Over half of them are elders.Up-to-date therapies for intermediate and advanced stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) emphasize multi-subjects combined therapy. Therapies that combined radiotherapy with chemotherapy have been a treatments mode of inoperable NSCLC.Traditional radiotherapy is an effective treatment for pulmonary carcinoma, which is limited by radiation tolerance dose of the patient. Brachytherapy of Iodine-125 is a more effective treatment for inoperable patients. For patients with middle and advanced stage pulmonary carcinoma, combined therapies based on radioactive seeds implantation not only diminish the lesion but also protect pulmonary physiological function and improve survival quality of inoperable elder patients. Fluorouracil sustained release can be sent to the lesion directly, and there will be a high drug concentration in the tumor, which can obviously reduce the adverse effect of the chemotherapy. Short-term therapeutic efficacy can be significantly improved with...
