| ObjectiveThe restricted host range of HBV and lack of a cell culture system for virus production have hampered our research on HBV. Nowadays, transfecting HBV DNA into mammalian cells and constructing cell model which can express HBV are important ways to study the virus and the mechanism of hepatitis B. In this research, we want to establish an HBV replication model which can secrete virus-like particles and provide HBsAg positive serum substitute for future HBV infection research. In addition, our department has researched on HBV intrauterine transmission for years and pointed out there might be a "cell transfer"of HBV infection in placenta. But the cell transfer mechanism is not very clear. So we transfect HBV into trophoblast cells (HPT-9) to construct a trophoblast cell model for future study on the mechanism of HBV infects placenta.
