A new type of maxillofacial material, SY-1, two-component and room temperature vulcanizing silicone elastomer has been researched and developed in the Fourth Military Medical University. A lot of studies on SY-1 silicone elastomer have been done and its various properties had been improved in recent years. Currently, in order to meet all kinds of clinical demands in different types and parts of maxillofacial defect, a series of maxillofacial prosthetic materials of SY blending silicone elastomers had been researched and developed by the Fourth Military Medical University. Some properties of SY-1 silicone elastomer are almost equivalent to those of MDX4-4210 silicone elastomer widely used internationally. For example, its properties of tensile strength, elongation at break, heat aging properties and the hardness (Shore-A) are almost better than those of MDX4-4210 silicone elastomer. But because of its aging, the life span of maxillofacial prosthetics is short, it is about two to three years. In order to improve the properties of SY-1 silicone elastomer and prolong the life span of silicone maxillofacial prosthetics, in this test, the mechanical properties and resistance aging properties of SY-1 silicone elastomer added with nanometer...
