| Objective: To explore the relationship between the increase in the blood glucose and the prognosis of the patients who suffer from severe cerebral traumas.Method: Divide the 65 patients suffering severe cerebral trauma into three groups on the basis of (GL asgow Coma Scale, GCS)with the precondition that the selected patients do not contract diabetes, severe organ disease and do not suffer from severe wound in other parts of the body as well. Venous blood samples were taken from all the patients when they are hungry at the first , second and third day of their admission into the hospital. Check-ups of the blood glucose were conducted from the samples. The observation of the therapeutic effect and the prognosis has been made.Result: The 65 patients suffering from severe cerebral traumas have higher blood glucose of different range. With the declining of the GCS of the patients, the higher the blood glucose, the worse the prognosis and the longer the duration of the increase in the blood glucose, the worse the prognosis becomes .The blood glucose of the admitted patients is obviously correlative with GCS (P<0.01),the three groups of patients whose GCS are 3-5,6-8 and 8-12 scores have the blood glucose level of 11.28±3.04,8.96±2.64 and 6.03±2.07mmol/L correspondingly; The blood glucose of the admitted patients is obviously correlative with the prognosis (P<0.01); The patients whose prognosis are good, bad or dead have the corresponding blood glucose levels of 6.11±1.01,8.39±1.79 and 12.36±3.34mmol/L.The death rate of the patients with the blood glucose≥10mmol/L is... |
