Background and objective:Meningiomas are common intracranial neoplasms exhibiting morphologic or immunophenotypic evidence of an origin from meningothelial cells, accounting for 13–26% of all primary intracranial tumours.[1]They are a heterogeneous group of diseases with respect to complicated histopathological classification, overelaborate grading and abviously disparity in immunophenotypic features, their prognoses are quite different and difficult to evaluate. We know little about the pathogenesis of meningiomas as yet. Recent researches show that antioncogene P53 protein and its family member P73 protein produce a marked effect to evaluate the prognosis in many tumours.Blood vessels supply the nutrition of tumour cell growth, and meningiomas are rich in vessels , so it is especially important to study vascular growth factor family for evaluation of meningioma prognosis. PlGF is a new member of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family which has been detected that it has different expression in several tumours. However, the study about meningiomas is extremely little. To make clear the influencing factor of meningioma prognosis, guide clinical treatment and elevate patient survival rate, we retrospectively studied 105 cases of meningiomas by PlGF,P73 in situ hybridization (ISH) and 7 antigens by immunohistochemistry according to the new classification of WHO in 2000.The results are statistical analysis.Materials and Methods1. Materials:105 cases of meningiomas are from General Hospital of Shenyang Military Region (1992-2005). The age of patients including 55... |
