Objective To observe the long-term out-come of patients who were treated by transsphenoidal surgery because of Cushing's disease.Discuss the treatment of Cushing's disease.Method and Database 32 patients were analyzed retrospectively, which were diagnosed with Cushing's disease by clinical manifestations,endocrinological examinations and radiological imaging,and performed transsphenoidal tumor resection in department of neurosurgery ,PUMC hospital. Among 32 patients, 29 were female and 3 were male. Mean age was 31.9 years and mean course of disease was 8 months. 27 patients were pathologically diagnosed as pituitary ACTH-secreting adenoma and 5 were pituitary hyperplasia. Result Follow-up term is from 5 to 15 years,average 10.1 years.The results as follows:â‘ 16 patients got long-term cure, â‘¡recurred 11 patients,with the average recurrent time 6.6 years, performed secondary transsphenoidal surgery ,adrenalectomy and pituitary radiological treatment, and 10 got cure,1 had high cortical hormone level, â‘¢3 out of 5 invalid patients got cure after adrenalectomy and pituitary radiological treatment ,and 1 grew into Nelson's syndrome, and 1 had high cortical hormone level.
