| Laboratory animal science is the foundation and important condition of life science research. The occurrence and development ofhuman diseases are extremely complex, and the laboratory animals are called "the living precision instruments". The laboratory animals are indispensable for accurate research on the pathogenesis and treatment of human diseases. The New Zealand white rabbits have been widely used in our experiments of animal surgery for their properties and advantages in recent years. Yet the anesthetic methods of the rabbits have been challenging us. There are few choices of anaesthetics for rabbit anesthesia because some drugs used commonly such as thiopental sodium and pentobarbital sodium are not easily obtained in the market now; urethane has been abandoned gradually for its toxicity. The anaesthetics used in our hospital are suitable for human clinical surgery, but not suitable for rabbits. On the other hand, the effects of anaethetics on the physiologic functions of rabbit have not been still known very well. Therefore, the aims of our study were to explore a new satifactory anesthetic method in rabbits with some anesthetics, and to investigate the effects of anaesthetics on anesthetic efficiecy and some physiologic functions in rabbits.Test â… Experimental study on anesthesia combinated with ketamine-droperidol in rabbitsThe aim of the study was to investigate the effects of different combinations of ketamine anddroperidol on rabbits.Method: Forty-eight healthy New Zealand White rabbits were randomly assigned into six groups (n=8/group): group â… (ketamine 50mg · kg-1 + droperidol 2.5mg · kg-1), group â…¡ (ketamine 50mg · kg-1 + droperidol 5mg · kg-1 ), group â…¢ (ketamine 75mg · kg-1 + droperidol 2.5mg · kg-1 ), group â…£ (ketamine 75mg · kg-1 + droperidol 5mg · kg-1 ), group â…¤ (ketamine 100mg · kg-1 + droperidol 2.5mg · kg-1) and group â…¥ (ketamine 100mg· kg-1 + droperidol 5mg · kg-1). Different doses of combined anesthetics were injected intramuscularly in each group... |
