| Objective: To study the expression of MDM2 and p73 gene in childhood acute leukemia and discover their clinical implications, their expressions were measured by relative quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Materials and methods1 Patients and groups: 72 children with newly diagnosed acute leukemia were collected in our hospital from January, 2004 to June, 2005. There were 45 acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) children who were 17 L1 and 28 L2 cases (no L3 cases). 8 T-ALL and 32 B-ALL cases were found in 40 ALL cases by flow cytometry. The subgroups of 27 acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) children were M2 (5), M3 (12), M4 (4), M5 (3) and M6 (3) groups. After chemical therapy and being observed for six months from remission, 50 patients were in continuous complete remission and 19 ones were in poor prognosis except for 3 ones out of follow-up. There were 6 ones in partly remission, 9 ones in relapse and 4 ones in death of intracranial hemorrhage. 10 non-malignant hematological disease children and 10 normal children were considered as controls.2 Samples collection and operating sequence: RNA from the... |
