Angina pectoris is a common symptom of coronary heart disease, which is caused by the sharp and transitory shortage of blood and oxygen. The patient feels paroxysmal colic, obtuse pain or press sensation of pain in the back-breastbone or left prothorax when angina pectoris attacks. The feeling of pain may radiate to the left shoulder, left upper limbs and even to the fingers. With the improvement of living condition, the change of life style and the acceleration of life rhythm, the incidence of angi- na pectoris is increasing year by year. According to the statistic data, there are about six to sixteen million patients with angina pectoris in the United States and the number of the patient increases by three hundred and fifty thousand every year. In china, the suffering and death toll of angina pectoris are also increasing every year. Traditional antianginal drugs act on their treatment by increasing the blood supply of the coronary artery through relieving the convulsion of coronary artery or furbi- shing the balance of supply and demand on blood and oxygen by expediting collateral circulation,or by reducing the oxygen demand of cardiac muscle through slacking the muscle in the wall of ventricle or lowering the heart rate. The traditional...
