Objective: To investigate the relationship between the blood carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) levels and it's significance in different degree liver desease and to explore the role of carbon monoxide(CO) in liver injury. Methods: The blood carboxyhemoglobin in patients of different degree liver injury including hepatitis, hepatic cirrhosis and severe hepatitis were measured by double wave length spectrophotometry, the results were compared to normol control statistically. Results: The blood carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) levels in patients with hepatitis, hepatic cirrhosis demonstrated significant difference statistically, the glutamic- pyruvic transaminase in blood are correlation with COHb in one of the hepatitis group, there are no significant difference between cirrhosis subgroups grouping through Chid-Pugh scores. Conclusions: The change of blood carboxyhemoglobin in patients with different degree liver injury suggest that CO play a role in liver disease. |
