Objective To measure the levels of plasma tissue factor(TF), tissue factor pathway inhibitor(TFPI)and D-Dimer(D-D) in different phrases of patients with leukemia, and to explore their significance in the development, curative effect and prognosis of leukemia. Methods Forty-eight acute leukemia (AL) and eighteen chronic myelogenous leukemia(CML) patients were selected into the study, the levels of plasma tissue factor, tissue factor pathway inhibitor and D-Dimer were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Some of patients were measured in different phrases. Results Compared with normal control group, plasma levels of TF, TFPI and D-D were elevated before treatment in acute leukemia patients ( t,t' =6.58-20.38,P<0.01 ) . After complete remission(CR), plasma levels of TF and TFPI returned to normal range except for D-D compared with normal control group in ALpatients(t' =7.23,P<0.01 ). Plasma levels of TF and D-D were much higher in patients during relapse than that before treatment and after CR(t, t' =3.68-9.18,P<0.01) . Plasma levels of TFPI were higher during relapse than that of CR ( t=4.73, P<0.01 ) ,but no difference was seen between relapse and before treatment. Compared with other AL patients, plasma levels of TF, TFPI and D-D increased in APL patients during relapse and before treatment (t, t' =2.46-5.45, P<0.01). Compared with normal control group, plasma levels of TF, TFPI and D-D were elevated in CML patients during (t, t' =3.65~7.77,P<0.01)AP and BP and no difference was seen in CP.Conclusion The plasma levels of TF, TFPI and D-D increased in AL patients during relapse and before treatment, and they decreased after CR. It showed activation of coagulation and fibrinolysis existed in patients and were improved with amelioration of the disease. The three index were much higher in APL that in other AL, which showed that there were relationship between disorder of coagulation and high level of TF, TFPI and D-D. There were a close relationship between the three index and development of CML. The plasma levels of TF, TFPI and D-D can be usedas one of the indicators of the development , curative effect and prognosis ofleukemia.
