Objective: To explore the active mechanism and therapeutic effectiveness of Jiawei Kongsheng Pill through animal experiment and clinical trial combined with my tutor's clinical experiences. Methods and results: In animal experiment, vascular occlusion method was used to build rat models of vascular dementia (VD), using water labyrinth, diving platform experiments, SOD, MDA, MAO of cerebral tissue and cytone crosis being detected too. Jiawei Kongsheng Pill could improve learning ability and memory of model rats, decreasing MDA, increasing SOD, resisting the damage of OFR and cerebral cell. In clinical trial, the diagnostic standards of Clinical Research Guiding Principle of Chinese Herb and New Drug Curing Dementia, DSM-IV, VD, Morris's CDR, MMSE were used. 51 cases included were divided into treatment group (30 cases) and control group (21 cases). The total effective rate was 76.67% in treatment group and 52.38% in control group. The MMSE scores, main TCM syndromes were improved, being superior to those in control group. Conclusion: Jiawei Kongsheng Pill can improve lower intelligence, living ability and clinical syndromes of VD patient and has outstanding clinical effectiveness and definite active mechanism on VD. |
