This thesis is composed of two parts. Part I includes a research review of Ranunculus plant, and studies on the chemical constituents of Ranunculus japonicus. In this part, 20 chemical compounds were isolated from Ranunculus japonicus, among which 12 compounds had been identified by various spectroscopic methods. Part II mainly introduces activities of Corydalis yanhusuo and a research about total alkaloids extraction of Corydalis yanhusuo, meanwhile, deals with two modelled traditional Chinese Medicines.Chapter 1 Chemical Constituents of Ranunculus japonicusRanunculus japonicus belongs to the Ranunculaceae family. It is distributed widely in China and traditionally used in the treatment of various diseases such as jaundice, hepatitis, tuberculosis and sarcoma, etc in local people. Pharmacologic tests revealed that the plant has antibacterial and antihistaminic activities. So far, little is known about its chemical constituents. In a search for its biologically active compounds, our phytochemical investigation on the total plant led to the characterization of 12 compounds including two coumarins (Scoparone 1, Scopoletin 6), four flavones (Tricin 2, Luteolin 4, 5-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxyflavone 7, 5-hydroxy-7,8-dimethoxyflavone 8), one phenolic acids (Protocatechuic acid 3), two lactones (Anemonin 5, Ternatolide 9), together with β-sitosterol (10) , Stigmasterol (11) and daucosterol (12).Their structures of the compounds from R. japonicus were illustrated in Figure 1.Compounds 1~12 were isolated from Ranunculus japonicus for the first time while compounds 7, 8 were firstly characterized from Ranunculus genus.Chapter 2 Studies on extraction of the total alkaloids from Corydalis yanhusuoIn order to utilize the abundant resources of Corydalis yanhusuo and search for the effective chemical components on cardiovascular disease, a research on the total alkaloids extraction of Corydalis yanhusuo had been carried out. Finally, a simple and feasible method was optimized and used for industrialized production, meanwhile, Yunnan Pollen Tablet and A'naer Lotion, two traditional Chinese Medicines were introduced to model.
