| DICOM is a standard of digital imaging and communications in medicine which specifies the methods and the format for exchanging digital medical images and related information. DICOM standard improves the share of medical images and interconnection of information system in hospital and is used widely in the field of medical informatics nowadays. But there is no authority that can test the implementations' conformance to DICOM standard, thus the interconnection of information system still faces difficulties.Testing or validating the DICOM conformance of imaging devices is very important in building a digital hospital. The failure to find problems in DICOM conformance of new devices may result in disconnection with other devices or the information system, and bring huge expense to the hospital. Therefore, how to test DICOM conformance becomes an urgent problem that should be solved.By analyzing DICOM standard thoroughly, this thesis made efforts in proposing a novel DICOM validation method and putting it into practice. The main tasks and results are summarized as follows:Present current researches of DICOM validation tools, analyze their advantages and disadvantages and put forward some improving methods.Comprehend DICOM standard thoroughly and investigate research how to test or validate implementations' conformance to DICOM standard on the respect of DICOM information definition, data structure, DICOM service class and DICOM network communications.Construct a full validation set so that the miss of errors in testing is reduced, and the reliability of testing is improved.Study and implement a semiautomatic DICOM validation toolkit - DSVT on the basis of validation set, which improves the convenience of test and clarity of the testing result.Evaluate the validation method by connecting DSVT and DVT.By evaluating the validation set-based method, we conclude that the method can validate DICOM conformance effectively, and make the validation of DICOM imaging devices more reliable. |
