Electrocardiography is one of the most important non-invasive diagnostic methods, which can be performed at a low cost and allow the early recognition of coronary heart disease. In recent years, with the advancement of health information, the research and development of electronic Electrocardiography has been paid increasingly attention to. And some standard organizations manage to set up standards for the management and exchange of ECG, such as SCP-ECG and MFER. However, uniform standard is still not available at present.XML uses open and self-described method to define the data structure, expresses the content and emphasizes on its structure, so that it can represent the relationship of data well. XML is expansible, readable, platform-independent, and structural. Furthermore, a set of standard technology systems have been established to support its applications.Faced the situation that ECG data from different carts has various formats, how to implement the data share and integration has become the crucial issue in the ECG development process. With the advantages listed above, it is obvious that XML is the right technology for the development of electronic ECG. Therefore, the dissertation will manage to design and establish an XML-based standard for ECG exchange, the work including:Study the relative standards and technologies of XML, and XML-based applications in the healthcare field.Base on the present various ECG standards and formats, design the XML-based standard for the ECG exchange.Design and implement the XML-based platform for the ECG exchange.Design and develop the ECG diagnosis system.Do some preliminary research on the problems of data storing, annotation and security, etc.It has been proved that the application of the XML-based ECG standard meetsthe requirement of ECG data expression and clinical use of ECG, and also provides a practical and effective way for data share and integration.
