| Objective: To observe the effect of Erzhitiangui(EZHTG) decoction in improving the ovarian response of senile sterile women, and explore its functional mechanism. Methods: Clinical study: 66 patients of senile sterile women were randomly divided into two groups:the herb group (treated with EZHTG decoction combined with western medicine) and the control group (treated with western medicine).We observe symptoms of renal asthenia before and after treatment,amount of gonadotropic hormone,blood hormone level of different periods,endometrial thickness,the pulsatility index of the uterine artery and the ovarian artery,number of follicles,number of oocytes,the ratio of mature oocytes, fertilization, mature embryo and pregnancy. The relation between symptoms of renal asthenia before treatment and basal blood estradiol and the relation between dry symptoms of vagina and blood estradiol in the day of HCG. Results: Clinical study showed the herb group was obviously better than the control group in improving the insufficiency of kidney (P<0.05) and improveing the ratio of mature oocytes,fertilization, mature embryo and pregnancy(P<0.05).The two groups showed insignificant difference in ratio of given-up cycle,but it showed significant difference in amount of gonadotropic hormone,daily dosage of hormone used,blood estradiol and endometrial thickness in the day of HCG,number of oocytes.There is weak negative correlation between dry symptoms of vagina and blood estradiol in the day of HCG.
