| The research conducted a study on the bowel control of the anus-retained operation for elderly low rectal cancer patients. After anus-retained operation, frequency of incontinence in short-period increases greatly.The bowel control function attenuate in some degree, and attenuate much more as age rises up.The bowel control function after anus-retained operation can get improved as time goes on(about 12 months).Using the colonic J-pouch-anal anastomosis could improve bowel control function obviously in elderly patients , and could not increases complication after anus-retained operation.Age should not be the contraindication of anus-retained operation only if there is exact evidence to prove incontinence would occur after the operation. |
