In traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this disease belongs to the categories of Glomus and Fullness, Gastralgia, Jaundice and Diarrhea, and was recognized earlier than western medicine. As a result rich treating experiences were accumulated in TCM .The period of Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties is thought to be the booming phase of TCM and Chinese culture, so it is crucial to summarise the prescribing rules and establish relevant database of the therapeutic experiences through the analysis of the archival documents in these three dynasties for conducting the modern clinic prescription.Based on the references of a large amount of ancient and recent TCM documents, particularly the masterpieces, prescriptions and case historied regarding the management of spleen-stomach damp-heat which were written by herbalists in Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties, an in-depth study was carried out on prescribing rules in the treatment of damp-heat in spleen-stomach through the statistical analysis and induction of 370 prescriptions and the database set up by the collection and rearrangement of these documents.
