| Objective: To evaluate the effect of posterior cruciate ligament resection on the tibiofemoral joint gap and its clinical value in total knee replacement.Method: We select 30 patients with varus osteoarthritis of the knee underwent total knee replacement. Patients with varus deformity and rheumatoid arthritis were not included. There were 26 women and 4 man, with a mean age.of 69.9 years (range from 59-83 years). All operations were done with a standardized technique. We measured the knee joint gap of flexion with 90 degree and extension by using tensor device before and after resecting posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). The minimum increment with this device is lmm. All prosthes are posterior stabilized prostheses (High flex 18, Innex 12).And then analyze the result of measurement by using ANOVA. |
