| Objective To observe the dynamic changes of serum soluble Fas (sFas) and soluble ligand of Fas (sFasL) of newborn with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), and the relativity between the dynamic change , the coronal Computerized Tomography (CT) and serum zymogram so as to investigate the significance of apoptosis in newborn hypoxic-ischemic injury. Methods There were 48 newborn HIE patients involved in this study. Among them there were 18 patients with moderate symptoms and gentle and severe patients were IS respectively. According to CT condition, gentle , moderate and severe cases were 19,18,11 respectively. 30 healthy newborn were served as control group. Among them 15 newboms were served as control of convalescence and another IS as control of acute period. Concentration of sFas and sFasL in femoral venous blood was measured by ELISA. Serum enzymes and their isozymes were determined by full automatic analyzer. Coronal CT were applied to all newborn HIE patients within 48-72 hours after they were born. T test and ANOVA were used to compare the means. Correlation analysis was performed using pearson correlation coefficient. Results (1)The concentration of sFas in acute period was significantly higher than that of control group and that in early convalescence (P<0.05). And the concentration of sFas in early convalescence was also higher than that of control group (P<0.01). The same was true in sFasL. (2)According to clinical symptoms, the concentration of sFas in acute period, including gentle, moderate and severe symptoms, was significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05). The concentration of sFas in the group with severe symptoms was also significantly higher than that of gentle and moderate group respectively (P<0.01). There was no difference between gentle and moderate group (P>0.05). There were significantly differences in the concentration of sFasL among gentle, moderate and severe group. The trend was that the higher concentration of serum sFasL the more severe of the clinical symptoms. The concentration of sFas and sFasL in early convalescence with moderate and severe symptoms was significantly higher than that of control group, and also the group with gentle symptom (P<0.01). There was no difference between gentle and control group(3)According to CT condition, the concentration of sFas in acute period, including gentle, moderate and severe CT characteristic, was significantly higher than that of control group (P<0.05). There were significantly differences in the concentration of sFas among gentle, moderate and severe group (P<0.05). It showed that the higher concentration of serum sFas the more severe CT characteristic. The same was true in sFasL. But there was no difference in the concentration of sFasL between... |
