Chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS), it also named "the third state" , "grey state" or "semi-healthy state" , it belongs to "sub-healthy state" . It is an ancient but "new" disease, the medico group didn' t know very well about the disease until 1988 the America Disease controlling Centre definite it as "Chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS)" . Due to the development of the modern society, it makes the people entering a fast rhythm and competitive age, people are mentally stressed, in addition to other social factors, CFS has become one of diseases come alone with the modern society development. CFS will become one of the main health problem to the 21st Century threatening the public health. In recent year, CFS has become one of the important hot topic for the medico group.Recently, the research on CFS lead to more understanding of this disease, there are some break through in discovering the physiological, pathological, immunological and endocrine factors associate with CFS. However, the etiopathogenesis of CFS is still not very clear. It may related to the factors such as virus inflection, mental stimulation, sleeping disorder, deactivation etc. As the ontogenesis of CFS is not clear, there is no effective way of treating this disease in the clinical practice. It is in a developing state of using anti-virus drug , immunoglobulin, immune regulatory drug, vitamins etc, and cognitive therapy, psychology-motor therapy to treat CFS. Therefore, the medico group now put their focus on the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) field.The advantages pf using acupuncture with electro-therapy in treating CFS are confirmed curative effect and no side effect.
