Nanometer TiO2 has been studied and utilized widely for its excellent properties, such as: safety, innocuity, low-cost, no secondary pollution, and the functions of antibiosis and antisepsis. In this paper, the preparation methods of nanometer TiO2 powder, film and supported materials, with industrial metatitanic acid as raw materials, and the loaded technology of nanometer TiO2 sol and powder deposited on different substrates (glassic plate and textile) were studied. Photo-catalytic activity of the TiO2 film and powder was researched through photo-degrading the methyl orange solution. The dynamic process was discussed as well. Finally, the antibacterial capability was primarily investigated by antibacterial ring method.Firstly, TiOSO4 solution was prepared from the reaction of industrial tatitanic acid and H2SO4 (98%), then nanometer TiO2 sol and nanometer TiO2 powder were got from TiOSO4 solution. The two methods (TiOSO4 inorganic and tetrabutyl titanate organic method) were contrasted. The effect of pH value and HNO3 concentration on formation time and stability of sol was studied, the results indicated that stability of sol was better in pH1.0~1.5, 10% HNO3 concentration.The nanometer TiO2 powders were prepared by Sol-gel and hydrolyze preparation methods. The particle shape, diameter and crystal structure were studied by SEM, XRD and TEM. The analysis results indicated that the crystal grain size was 10-50nm, the crystal structure was anatase structure. The crystal grain size and the crystal structure would be influenced significantly by processing conditions and annealing temperature.The loaded photocatalyst was an important application method of nanmeter TiO2, and the loaded method of photocatalyst played a key role on photocatalytic performance. Nanometer TiO2 film deposited on different substrates (glassic plate and textile) was prepared by drawing method and adhesive bonding method. The XRD indicated that the film was the anatase structure with crystal size 10-50nm. The AFM and SEM imagines showed that TiO2 film deposited by this technique possessed the characteristics of uniform particle size and a tight surface structure, and the accidented surface helped the photo-catalytic reaction for the more comparative acreage. The poto-catalytic activity of the TiO2 film was tested through photo-degrading the methyl orange solution. During a certian extent, the activity increased with the coating times, but it was not evident when the coating times over 5. In TiO2 photocatalysis, the mechanism of the photocatalytic oxidation of organic contaminants had been studied. And the effect factors of the photocatalysis activity were investigated, such as the crystal structure, reactive temperature, particle size, illuminated distance and reactant concentration. The primarily experiment of antibacterial ring had confirmed the antibacterial capability of nanometer titania.
