Recent research indicated that standards of the electrocardiogram (ECG) findings among healthy subject differ by gender, age and race. Researches concerning normal ECG limit for the Chinese are few and have their limitations. The multicentre investigations were carried out in a Beijing community. Standard simultaneous 12-lead ECG recordings from 88 healthy Beijing subjects (29 male and 59 female, mean age: 49) were collected with a standardized digital recorder and processed with ECG computer program. P-R interval, QRS duration, and QT interval were measured both in simultaneous 12-lead and single-lead, and the results were compared with each other. Those parameters were also compared between male and female. The measured P-R intervals, QRS durations, and Q-T intervals had significant difference between simultaneous 12-lead ECG and single-lead ECG. All the measured values were longer in 12-lead simultaneous ECG than in single-lead ECG. P-R interval, 0.163 ±0.020s, 0.157±0.018s, 12-lead and single-lead respectively. QRS duration, 0.087±0.009s, 0.081±0.008s, 12-lead and single-lead respectively. QT interval, 0.383±0.026s, 0.366 ±0.025s, 12-lead and single-lead respectively. Gender difference of ECG duration measured by 12-lead was detected. The QT duration was significantly longer in female (0.388±0.025s) than in male (0.370±0.024s).Compared with other researches, several ECG duration differences were found. The results indicated that difference between ECG duration measured by 12-lead and single-lead exist. Normal ECG standard among different subjects are different. It is necessary to continue the ECG investigation of large sample of healthy Chinese subjects. |
