| Prevention and treatment of the complications in resection of liver tumors in hepatic hila. Objective: To study the experience of operation and methods to prevent and treat the complications in resection of liver neoplasms in hepatic hila. Methods: The operative complications occurring in all 87 cases were analyzed. The technique of surgery, experience and lessons were summarized, and the methods of prevention and treatment were also studied. Results: There was no death during operation in 87 cases. 47 cases (54.0%) were complicated by massive intraoperative or postoperative bleeding, while 5 cases died within one month after operation. 28 cases (32.2%) were complicated by postoperative biliary fistula and 4 cases (4.6%) iatrogenic biliary stricture, while one case with postoperative biliary fistula died on postoperative day 35. 5 cases (5.8%) were complicated by hepatic venous outflow obstruction. 3 cases (3.4%) were complicated by venous air embolism, while one case died on postoperative day 7. Conclusions: Although to perform such resection in hepatic hila is quite difficult and risky, the resection security could be ensured and the operative complications could be prevented and treated so long as attention has been paid to the choice of appropriate surgical indications and adoption of meticulous surgical technique. |
