Objective To explore the factors, prevention and cure of post-operative respiratory failure of patients with lung cancer. Method Ten cases of lung cancer with post-operative respiratory failure and one hundred-eight cases of lung cancer without respiratory failure were analyzed retrospectively, and summarize the experience of treatment. Results the incidence rate of post-operative respiratory failure in patients beyond 70 years old is 11.29%, below 70 years old is 5.35%; in patients with smoking history is 12.31%, without smoking history is 3.77%; in patients with chronic bronchitis is 11.32%,without chronic bronchitis is 6.15%; in patients with diabetes or/and hypertension or/and vascular disease of heart and brain is 13.64%,without diabetes or/and hypertension or/and vascular disease of heart and brain is 7.29%; in patients with preoperative FEV1<1.5L,FEV1%<50%,MVV<60% is 26.08%,29.41%,23.08%,in patients with FEV1>1.5L,FEV1%>50%,MVV%>60% is 4.21%,4.95%,4.35%; in patients with pneumotomy is 22.22%,with bilobectomy is 12.5%,with lobectomy is 6.45%; in patients with pathological stageâ… is 0% ,with stageâ…¡is 5.56%,with stage â…¢ is 12.07%; in patients with lung infective is 13.79%,without lung infection is 3.33%;lung infection time during 48 hours is 17.14%,beyond 48 hours is 8.69%; in patients with intraoperative liquid infusion beyond 2500ml is 30.43%,below 2500ml is 3.16%; in patients with blood transfusion beyond 800ml is 28.57%,below 800ml is 9.67%; X2 test P<0.05. the incidence rate of post-operative respiratory failure is 8.47%,the cure rate is 70%.Conclusion Age, smoking history , preoperative complication, lung functional conditions, operative methods, pathological stage, lung infection and lung infective time, intraoperative liquid infusion and blood transfusion have obvious corrections with post-operative respiratory failure; Respiratory failure of postoperative was due to various factors. Effectively control lung infection and timely mechanical ventilation were the most effective methods of treatment postoperative respiratory failure.
