Research on the Relationship between Neuropeptide y and Pituitary Hormones in Plasma of Human Pituitary Adenomas[Background] There are a very great deal of Neuropeptide y(NPY), which is a kind of neuropeptide in central nervous system.A great improvement in the research of NPY has been made in the field of neuroendocrinology .NPY was firstly devided from porcine brain tissue by Tatemoto et al in the early 1982 and confirmed that it is a kind of active Neuropeptide involved 36-amino acid.At present.most of scholars regard NPY as neurotransmitter or neuromodulator with complex effects and comprehensive physiological function.such as it can regulate hormone secretion of hypothalamus-pituitary gland-target gland axes, contraction and stretch of smooth muscle, blood pressure, cardiac rate, respiration and diet and has a close relation of pituitary adenoma. [Objective] In order to investigate the correlation between neuropeptide y and pituitary hormones in plasma of human pituitary adenomas. [Methods] The 3ml venous blood of the 82 patiens with pituitary adenoma and the 20 matched control person were collected in this experiment. The level of NPY in plasma was mensurated by radio-immunity analysis and the correlation was analyzed between the level of pituitary hormones (such as PRL, GH, FSH, LH, ACTH as well as TSH)and NPY in plasma of the patients with pituitary adenoma.In addion , the correlation and difference were discussed elementarily between the NPY and other clinical markers.[Results] As a result:(1) There was negative correlation between the level of PRL and NPY in plasma of the patients with pituitary adenoma . NPYcould have an inhibitory effect directly or indirectly on the regulation of excretion of PRL in the patients with pituitary adenoma .(2) There were positive correlation between the level of PRL and NPY in plasma of the patients with pituitary adenoma The NPY could have a accelerated effect directly or indirectly on the regulation of excretion of PRL in the patients with pituitary adenoma . (3) There was negative correlation between the level of PRL and NPY in plasma of the patients with PRL-secreting adenoma, GH-secreting adenoma, nonsecreting pituitary adenoma, polysecreting pituitary adenoma.however, there was positive correlation between the level of PRL and NPY in plasma of the patients with TSH-secreting pituitary adenoma . These results showed that there were some difference in the regulation modes as well as final effect of NPY on PRL in all kinds of pituitary adenomas. (4) There was positive correlation between the level of LH and NPY in plasma of the patients with ACTH-secreting adenoma , however, there was negtive correlation between the level of GH and NPY in this adenoma. These results indicated that there were some differences in the regulation modes of the NPY on LH and GH in gonadotropic hormone pituitary adenoma.(5) There was no any correlation between NPY and other pituitary hormones in the other pituitary adenomas.but these results can not be testified that there were no any correlations between NPY and other pituitary hormones .For the results showed us that the amount of the cases shoud be increased and the measure of examine shoud be improved.(6)lt was shown that there was distinctive difference of the level of NPY between the group of pituitary adenoma and the control and in the different type of hypophysomas.These results cured that NPYcould play an important role in the pathogenic mechanism of pituitary adenoma.(7)We found there was distinctive difference of the level of NPY between pre and pro of operation.Theseresult cured us there was a close relation between NPY could play an rolein onset of pituitary adenoma and the regulation of neuroendocrine.(8) Nocorrelation and difference between NPY content in plasma and sex, age,quality nature, accommodation of blood .class of image and the status oftumor prolifration potential.[Conclusion]NPY involved the regulatingof hypothalami- pituitary hormonesand the pathology of pituitary adenoma. |
