ObjectiveTo study the quality of life and mental health condition as well as its related factors of heroin addicts voluntarily seeking detoxification, in order to provide psychosocial intervention for heroin addicts during detoxification. MethodsSCL-90, EPQ and Quality of Life Scale for Drug Addicts (QOL-DA V2.0) were used to investigate 100 heroin addicts voluntarily seeking detoxification from Guangzhou Sanatorium of PLA. The data for the different types of heroin addicts was analyzed by using T test, and One-way ANOVE and correlation analysis. Results1. The quality of life and mental health of heroin addicts were lower than those of ordinary people in china.2. There were significant differences among different types of heroin addicts on mental health and quality of life condition.3. There were significantly correlated among the quality of life, mental health, response pattern and the social support of heroin addicts.Conclusion1. Abusing patterns, the level of social supports, and the personality were the important factors that made defference in quality of life and mental health of herion addicts.2. To ameliorate the physical function, to chang abusing pattern and to control the withdrawal symptom can improve the quality of life and mental health level of heroin addicts.3. To promote confidence, reconstruct interpersonal relationship and improve the level of socail support of heroin addicts might help their detoxification.
