Objective: To study the effect of Sour Flavor Compound on the carbohydrate metabolism, lipid metabolism and insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) rats,and to make an attempt to evaluate the traditional Chinase medicine theory of sour restains sweet in treating T2DM.Methods: SD rats were modeled into T2DM rats by high quality of heat feeding for 8 weeks and abdominal injection of streptozotocin,then were randomly divided into 5 groups.The model group was given no treatment; the Sour group,the Sweet group,the Bitter group and the Metformin hydrochloride group were respectively treated by Sour Flavor Compound,Sweet Flavor Compound,Bitter Flavor Compound and Metformin hydrochloride tablets.The groups were recorded at 4 time points which were before the beginning of the treatment,4 treatment weeks later,8 treatment weeks later and 12 treatment weeks later.The level of FBG,serum insulin,serum FFA,serum TG was measured;the concentration of liver glycogen and the activity of liver glucokinase (GCK) were observed;and insulin sensitivity index(ISI) was calculated.Results: The method was proved practical that SD rats were modeled into T2DM rats by high quality of heat feeding and abdominal injection of streptozotocin. Sour Flavor Compound decreased FBG,TG and FFA,protected pancreas cells,increased serum insulin,ISI,liver glycogen,and resumed the activity of GCK in liver.The general therapeutic effectiveness of which was better than that of Sweet Flavor Compound and Bitter Flavor Compound.Conclusion:Sour Flavor Compound can adjust the turbulence of carbohydrate metabolism and lipid metabolism,and can ameliorate insulin resistance in T2DM rats.and proved that the theory of sour restains sweet in treating T2DM was scientific and practicable. |
