| Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of tonsil-pecking method in the treatment of chronic tonsillitis and explore its therapeatic mechanism. Method 237 patients were divided randomly into two groups - treating and control groups,and were observed after one or two courses of treatment.The treating group were treated with tonsil-pecking method, the control group were treated with Pharmaceuticals. Results The efficacy rate achieved in treating group were 95. 68%,compared with control groups 72%.These results reveal statistical significant differences between two groups(P<0.05). The level of CD4 and CD4/CD8 in treating group increased obviously after treatment (P<0.01). Conclusion The tonsil-pecking method has demonstrated satisfactory results in the treatment of chronic tonsilitis.lt can obviate the accumulation of purulent secretions in the tonsillar crypts,increase the patients' immunity,obviate the necessity of tonsillectomy.This method can be applied as an external treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine. |
