The Clinical Research On Treatment Of Pseudobulbar Due To Apoplexy By Nape-Acupuncture

OBJECTIVE and METHODS: In order to study the nape-acupucture for treatment of pseudobulbar palsy according to the acupoint property of "nearby-action". The patients were divided into control group, 55case and mape-acupuncture combined with the above drugs.Swallowing function andlinguistic function were used as the major obseration indexes.The relation between the disease cases,the age and the curative effect was also studied.RESULT: The result showed that the total effective rate was 96 per cent in the treatment group and 43.3 per cent in the control group, suggesting a significant difference (X2=31.52, P<0.005) between the two groups, and it also existed between them im comparison of swallowing and linguistic functions elevated over three degrees after the treatment. The curative effect was better for patients younger or with the shorter disease course.CONCLUSION: It was indicated that the curative effect of the nape-acupuncture for pseudobulbar palsy was good. The mechanism of the nape-acupuncture therapy has many facts, such as: raising the patients cerebral cell's excitation, recovering the pharynx, improving the cerebral blood circulation in focus.
