The Comparison Research Of Different Treatments In VD Rats Therapy

Obiective The purpose of this work was to study the different effects of promote blood circulation to remove blood stasis (PBC) and remove phlegm for resuscitation (RPR) in vascular dementia (VD) rats therapy and to find the most effective treatment method.Methods VD rats model was produced by permanent occlusion of bilateral common carotid arteries. After treatment, the learning and memory abilities, the neuropathological changes in hippocampus CAl field and the expression of ApoE in the brain of VD rats were studied.Results (1) Statistical analysis indicated that PBC and RPR treatments could significantly improve the learning and memory abilities of VD rats compared to the controls (P<0.05). (2) Both PBC and RPR treatments could reduce the damage caused by lack of blood in the pyramidal cells in hippocampus CAl field, while PBC was more effective. (3) PBC treatment could reduce the expression of ApoE gene in the VD rats brain.Conclusions CD PBC method for VD rats therapy was more effective than RPR. (2) The mechanism of PBC treatment for VD rats may be due to the reduction of the damage caused by lack of blood in the pyramidal cells in hippocampus CAl field and the reduced expression level of ApoE in the brain tissue.
