| Objective : To evaluate the clinical ,endoscopic and pathologic characteristics of 23 patients with gastric MALT lymphoma. To study Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection, the expression of Gastrin and bcl-2 protein in patients with gastric MALT lymphoma. Methods: Clinical and other related data of 23 patients with gastric MALT lymphoma diagnosed pathologically after operation were analyzed. The pathologic specimen of 23 patients with gastric MALT lymphoma and compared group chronic gastritis(n=20) were analyzed for Hp, Gastrin and bcl-2 protein by immunoperoxidased staining. Results: The patients with gastric MALT lymphoma had a median age of 45.0 years. The cases of male and female were 7 and 16 respectively. The symptoms started indistinctly, and chronic gastralgia was the chief .Under endoscopy, the majority of gastric MALT lymphoma appeared ulcers, which were deep and large , and seemed cancer-ulcers. The cancer was made definite so difficult that only 34.8% percent ones could be diagnosed correctly in the first time. Besides, Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection was found in 21 cases(91.3%).Hp infection, the expression of Gastrin and bcl-2 protein were significantly high in patients with gastric MALT lymphoma compared with chronic gastritis, besides, the infectional degree of Hp was found to correlated with expression of Gastrin, which correlated with bcl-2 protein. Conclusion: We should attach importance to the clinical, endoscopic and pathologic features of gastric MALT lymphorna. Endoscopy can help find out the early focus for those who suffer from a long irregular gastraigia as soon as possible, and submucosal biopsy will raise the rate of diagnosis. B and T cellular immunological test are recommended, especially hard to make definite diagnosis. Hp, Gastrin and bcl-2 protein may play a role in the origin of gastric MALT lymphoma. Hp infection may increase bcl-2 protein expression through Gastrin. |
