| The present study was done to describe the pharmacological effects of the polysaccharides extract of Candida albicans ( CAP) on the leukocytopoiesis-promoting in the leukopenia mice.Mature male ICR mice were divided into following four groups: normal control group (untreated normal animals); negative control group, positive control group and CAP group, and the mice of each group (except normal control group) were administered cyclophosphamide (100mg/kg.d-1 for 3 days) intraperitoneally to develop leukopenia. In the negative control group, each animal was administered water for injection (0.1ml/10g body weight) intravenously everyday for 6 days; in the positive control group, each animal was administered G-CSF (30μg/kg) intravenously everyday for 3 days and in the CAP group, each animal was administered CAP (1mg/kg.d-1) intravenously everyday for 6 days. The peripherial leukocyte numbers of all animals were counted befour treated CTX, and sacrificed 1, 3, 5and 7 days after treated CTX. Thenumber of peripheral leukocytes and bone marrow cells all of the sacrificed animals were examined. Spleen index and thymus index were also observed. In conclusion, it is suggested that CAP is a potent biologocal response modifier which has a similar effect as G-CSF and has prosperous future for clinical opening. It is worthy of future research. |
