It is not unusaul clinically that the cervical spinal cord is incessantly under the chronic pressure. CSM , tumor and tuberculosis can lead to the incessant chronic pressure on the cervical spinal cord, with the former working as the leading factor. Nevertheless, the current pathological study mainly rests on the clinical study because of lack of the efficient animal experiment concerning the incessant chronic pressure. This study is to find an approach of the incessant chronic pressure by animal experiment, similar to the clinical case. Although numerous studies have been carried out presently on animal on the damages caused to the spinal cord by the CSM, in comparison with the clinical pathogenesis, there are deficiencies to some extent: most of the experiments are acute damages or sub-acute pressure, experiments without the chronic experiment; multi-operations tend to lead to the death of the animal due to the syndrome: unclear diagnose by screenagelogy, separation of the experiment approach from index and clinical diagnose, failure in imitation the process of thegradual chronic spinal cord pressure, which actually is the one of the important indexes of the CSM model. In consideration of the aforesaid, the writer particularly designs this special experiment, set up the experiment model of the neck segment chronic gradual pressure so as to be close to the pathological process of the CSM.Method: This experiment goes like this: with the operation of from anterior neck, Embedded the pressure Saccule which is converted by the silica gel catheter in canine cervical vertebral body and then infuse slowing gradually certain amount of X ray contrast medium to form the gradual chronic pressure on the ventral lateral spinal cord so as to reach the pathology effect of the pressure on the segment imitation the spinal cord.Result: In this experiment, it shows that the canine has the gradual motion difficulties on the lower limbs, the superficial records CSEP latent period obviously is prolonged. (P<0.05), and the X ray shows that the order of the cervical vertebral body is normal. CT shows that the ventral lateral spinal cord deforms after the pressure. MRI shows that the spinal cord and hard membrane is under pressure however there is no evident change on the spinalcord signals. The neural histology shows that the degeneration, necrosis and reduction of the quantity of the neur cell on anterior horn cinereum, the change on lateral cord white matter demyelination, disorder, disruption of the neuraxon. The entire changes is in conformity with pathological character of the CSM.Conclusion: Compared with the previous experiment model, this model which adopts the pressure Saccule to create gradually the pressure on the cervical spinal cord has its own advantages as follows: simple to operate, safe to carry out, successful rate is higher; cheaper catheter to obtain, oppressing the machine creation the convenience; to achieve the purpose that gradually pressure on the ventral lateral spinal cord, the medical screenage and electric physical examination reflect accurately the degree of the chronic pressure on the spinal cord; the change of Pathologic histology with the impediment on spinal cord function is similar to in the characteristic changes that of human CSM. ideally simulated the pathological procedure of the gradual chronic pressure in the course of the breakout of the CSM.
