Association Between Oxidized Low Density Lipoprotein, Paraoxonase-1, Dehydroepiandrosterone And Arteriosclerotic Thrombotic Cerebral Infarction

Objectives: To investigate the changes of serum oxidized LDL(ox-LDL), Dehydroepiandrosterone-sulfate(DHEA-S) and activity of Paraoxonase-1 (PON-1) in individuals of acute arteriosclerotic thrombotic cerebral infarction(ATCI). Moreover, to learn the significance of the above three substances and provide the evidence for the prevention of ATCI.Methods: We adopted case-control study, measured the levels of serum ox-LDL, DHEA-S and PON-1 activity in individuals of ATCI and control group by double antibodies sandwich ELISA, competitive ELISA and spectrophotometry respectively. Meanwhile, the objects serum TG, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C, apoA, apoB. Lpa, FBG were also measured.Results: The levels of serum ox-LDL in ATCI patients were much higher than control group (P<0.0001), their levels of serum DHEA-S and PON-1 activities were much lower than control group (P<0.01 and P<0.0001). The comparision of above three substances between male and female in same group was difference, the comparision of same sex between two groups was also difference.Analysis of ATCI manifested that smoking, hypertension, the lower level of PON-1 activity and the higher level of TG were dangerous factors of ATCI. The levels of TG, PON-1 activity, Lpa and age, infarction area had correlations with ox-LDL; the levels of ox-LDL, apoB, LDL, DHEA-S and infarction area had correlations with PON-1 activity; the level of TG and age had correlations with DHEA-S.Analysis of control group manifested the 60~69 ages group had a peak level of ox-LDL, but PON-1 activity and DHEA-S had highest levels at 40-49 ages.Conclusions: The rise of serum ox-LDL and the reduction of PON-1 activity and serum DHEA-S might accelerate the progress of arteriosclerosis and ATCI, it plays a positive role in ATCI to surveillance and interfere the above three substances.
