Study On Quality Of Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati In China

Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati is dried root or rhizome of Reynoutria Ijaponica Houtt.It is usually used as a traditional medecine to activate blood circulation,to dissilate blood stasis,to clear away heat and promote diuresis.Super-micro-powder were observed throuth Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to find character under microscope to have been dismissed;Differrential thermal analysis(DTA) print has been tested to distinguish Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati and the root of differential thermal analysis,DTA Macleaya cordata(Willd.)R.Br.[Bocconia cordata Willd] Among its components,such as Emodin,Chrysophanol,Falacinol,Citreorosein,Questin,Questinol,Polydatin(Resveratrol-3-0- ?-D-glucoside) and anthraquinone have been tested to be the main activator. The differences of the quality of Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati from different origins were assessed through UV-spectrophotometry in order to find the cause of variance content of total anthraquinone in Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati.The results showed the contents differed among different origins and growing ages;The constitute of polydatine were determined by HPLC.As its antifungal and antioxidant activity,polydatine can be used as a standard of quality control,as total anthraquinone in Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati.We have also assessed its quality by the fingerprint through HPCE to provide the evidence for the exploitation and utilization of Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati.
