The main purpose of this study was to investigate the immunlogic manifestation of the peripheral blood T lymphocytes(PBL) in patients with renal cell carcinoma and to evaluate its possibility in immunologicly diagnosing renal cell carcinoma(RCC) Between November 2000 and January 2002, Ag-NORs in PBL was detected by a KL image system in 30 RCC patients and 30 healthy adults The feature of peripheral blood T lymphocytes subsets in 15 RCC patients was compared with that in healthy adults by using Flow Cytometer Finally, we obtained significant results Results: 1 The average Ag-NORs content in PBL from patients with RCC was lower than that from the healthy group After treatment, the content rised 2 Before therapy, the percentages of CD3+,CD4+ and CD28+ cells in peripheral blood of the RCC patients were lower than those of the controls, and the percentage of CD8+ cells was higher Treatment effects appeared to cause a rise of CD3+,CD4+,CD28+ cells in all patients while there was no change in CD8+ cells The results indicated that the phenotype analysis and the functional assay of peripheral blood T lymphocytes subsets from patients with RCC can demonstrate the features of immunologic activation varying with time, be helpful in diagnosing RCC, and especially in surveying the progression and evaluating the prognosis of RCC...
